Overview
Microsoft operates cloud regions in the United Arab Emirates, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, opened in 2019, as well as a Qatar region launched in 2022. This footprint allows regional organizations to keep their data in-country while accessing the Azure platform.
Microsoft’s position in the region rests as much on its infrastructure as on the integration of its artificial intelligence services into office and business tools already widely deployed across companies and public administrations.
Microsoft has also formed capital and industrial partnerships with regional technology players, particularly in the United Arab Emirates, making it a direct participant in shaping the local ecosystem rather than just a vendor.
